Carlos wint Best Paper Award tijdens EGPA 2021 conferentie

Esther, Isabelle en Carlos, de ALGOPOL promovendi, namen van 7 – 10 september deel aan EGPA 2021. Tijdens deze conferentie in Brussel hebben zij hun papers gepresenteerd aan het panel voor e-Governance. Hier hebben zij waardevolle feedback ontvangen om geïnspireerd verder te werken aan hun onderzoeken.

Als klap op de vuurpijl heeft Carlos met zijn paper ‘Street-level bureaucrats in the age of algorithms: An Ethnographic Research of Algorithms at the Dutch National Police’ de Best Paper Award van het panel gewonnen. Het paper gaat over het alledaagse gebruik van algoritmes door politieambtenaren en geeft een genuanceerd beeld van de interactie tussen mens en machine.
